Notes: Habitat notes: Growing on top of felled hardwood stump within a mixed coniferous-broadleaf (Black Oak, Doug.-Fir, Bay Laurel, Madrone) forest

Key characters used to ID: The “classic” pleurotoid form. Decurrent gills down truncate eccentric stem. Monomitic consistency. Microscopic characters: “Spores 7.5–9 (–11) × 3–4.5 μm, ellipsoid, smooth, hyaline, inamyloid, white to pale pinkish white in deposit” (Desjardin and Wood, 2015).
