Notes: Mixed hardwood forest, on oak trunk bark, where uncommon compared to other foliose genera like Punctelia and flavoparmelia.

Thallus dark green when dry, sorediate, apothecia absent. Thallus lobes with abundant fine cortical hairs. Medulla white, C+R (fleeting). Thallus underside dark to black in center, pale tan at lobe tips, rhizines abundant, concolorous with thallus, simple.
