Observation 21870: Daedaleopsis confragosa (Bolton) J. Schröt.

When: 2009-06-08

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Polypore-looking, but turned out to have gills. On a thin dead sapling in an as-yet-unnumbered zone that is low, wet, and hardwood-dominated, but not far from a stand of Balsam Fir.

Addendum: it is the Zone 45/46 boundary area, just on the 45 side of it.
