Observation 21870: Daedaleopsis tricolor (Bull.) Bondartsev & Singer
When: 2009-06-08
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Polypore-looking, but turned out to have gills. On a thin dead sapling in an as-yet-unnumbered zone that is low, wet, and hardwood-dominated, but not far from a stand of Balsam Fir.

Addendum: it is the Zone 45/46 boundary area, just on the 45 side of it.
