Who: Ed Harrison (Ed in Saratoga)

Habitat: in gravel driveway thru mixed woods
Cap: color – see photos; on older specimens – margin curling upwards, cap disintegrated within a day or two.
Gills: free; black; very close.
Stalk: color – yellow-tinged white on upper half; black spots (spores?) on lower half; thickening toward base; small base bulb.
Spores: 11.4 × 7.5 um; oval to egg-shape; print sparse but black/blackish.
Growth habit: individuals and clusters of 2-3.
Other: odor not distinctive; no chem test data.
Fits some characteristics of Coprinus but which species?
