Observation 219870: Pyronema omphalodes (Bull.: Fr.) Fuckel
When: 2015-10-19
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Photos of fruit bodies at 15x do not appear to have hairs at the margin, as in Pyronema domesticum as stated in Ascomycete Fungi of North America p 240.

Occurred about 2 weeks after the first fire in a new fire pit. It’s now largely covered in a dense white mycelial mat, developing orange fruit bodies.
