The cap margin is “appendiculate”. The white wooly material looks like a partial veil remnant, except that there no ring or ring zone on the stipe. Upon closer examination, the darker cap scales transition into the “wool”. The pore surface suggest a Suillus sp., but the gestalt stature is not of one. This one is real head scratcher! Boletales seems like a proper name at this time as placement into a specific family is questionable. Could you please comment on the ecology?
