Fused stalk of two fruiting bodies; very firm, rubbery, somewhat velvety stalk. Cap firm, rubbery, thick. Odor: pleasant, somewhat nutty/earthy.

Rocky, loose soil, drainage area.

Very large specimen.

Found beneath Western hemlock, Ponderosa pine, young doug fir saplings.

Elevation: 2500ft.

Temp: low 40’s.
