Notes: Over 50% of the stipe was buried in soil surrounding a long-dead conifer. This looks to be at least a few days old. Morning temp around 30F the day I found it, and several other recent mornings have dipped into the mid 30s or lower. No sign of lavender staining on this specimen.
Open mixed woods near a stream; oak, birch, hemlock, white pine.
Cap was much yellower than the photos show.
