In situ.
Underside of clump of sporocarps, showing approximate soil level and degree of sporocarp hypogeous.
Thick peridium that stains yellow, with copper to gray spore mass (gleba).
Base of pseudostipe, showingh abundant rhizomorphic threads.

for suggesting there was a pseudostem present. There was none. The rhizomorphs were abundantly attached to the bottom of the sporocarps.
