Observation 22115: Calvatia pachyderma (Peck) Morgan
When: 2008-11-12
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: It seems that I find these large puffballs in fields near rock out-croppings. Maybe the soil is warmer, wetter and has more mineral content near the rocks??

[admin – Sat Aug 14 02:06:02 +0000 2010]: Changed location name from ‘Skaggs Springs Rd, near the pacific coast, CA’ to ‘Skaggs Springs Rd., near the Pacific Coast, Sonoma Co., California, USA
