Growing on woodline under Pinus contorta and Thuja plicata. Near heavy Hygrocybe singeri and Hellvella vespertina flushes.

Recognized by sight: Fused at base, up to 2.5in tall.

Recognized by sight: The description says hardwood, and your find is with conifer. Also you found it in the west, and it says probably limited to the east. Nevertheless, your observation looks more orange than normal.

for the suggestion Allen. I think picture #2 and #4 (I loaded a new one) are more accurate for color. They were quite yellow.
