Breaking down a large, fallen fir tree. Mid elevation habitat.
Canopy dominated by Ponderosa pine and Douglas fir. Hemlocks intermixed with riparian saplings(deciduous hardwoods).
Temp: low 30’s.
Note: Older specimens like this one begin to turn somewhat orange to pinkish yellow once the frost starts to hit.
