Observation 221980: Laetiporus sulphureus (Bull.) Murrill

No herbarium specimen

Notes: One specimen growing on upright, dead hardwood tree about 10 feet off the ground. I have no idea where to begin with this one. I had to use my zoom lens to get these pictures and can’t even tell for sure if there are pores or teeth.

with this observation. I returned to the site today and found some additional growth on this specimen. It’s looking a lot more “shelfy” and showing some pinky-orange now. I was able to knock off a few pieces with a long branch to get a good look at the pore surface: yellow with 2 pores/mm. I have updated the photos (last two). BTW — Congratulations on your NAMA Photo Contest win. You always take great pictures=)
