Observation 222143: Amanita sect. Phalloideae (Fr.) Singer
When: 2015-11-07
Who: zaca
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Growing in a mediterranean habitat, dominated by Quercus trees.
See the notes of observation 222142. Some pecularities of this specimen:
- The cap was almost completely white, but it had some very light green bands that the photos didn’t reproduce (maybe because they were so light and it grew at a shadded place);
- To exclude A. bispogera (and A. verna) I performed the KOH test on the cap, which was negative;
- The volva was much smaller that the one in the other observation, though of the same type (form);
- Both speciems were still closed, but while in this one the volva tissue hidding the gill was white, the one in the other observation has some green tinges (similar to the color of cap);
- In the drying process the gills became visible, showing for this specimen some light tan coloration, while the other had white gills.
