Drew; Thanks for looking at the observation! Hard for me to get to E. serrulatum on this one; no marginata coloration and no serration that I see even blowing it up. Seems the best key here is the squamous cap because it is so significant. I know exactly where the mushroom came from so if I see it again I’ll throw it in to get it sequenced.
If you have faith in Noah’s and Christian’s book – which I really like – they place these tight species into “groups”. L. serrulata group or L. decolorans group for instance. The serrulata group has the gills as being grayish white or blueish so maybe the white gilled L. decolorans group is a better fit?
