When: 2015-11-10
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: Smell:
Taste: Did not

Spore Print: bright orange
Spore Photos, sizes: TBD

Microscopy: TBD, maybe – first and second attempt failed, very heavy with spore.

Habitat: in hardwood bottom that is frequently flooded during rains. Log was both burned and very rotted. I could tell that it was birch.

Cap: smooth, slightly tacky feel, rubbery feel. Saw material along edges to indicate cortina or veil. Only on the tiniest button, with the cap attached to the stem, did it appear there might be a very slight cortina.

Cap context lighter orange at center, see photos.

Gills: dark orange, serrated, close

Stalk: see photos
