Observation 222628: Russula Pers.

-3-6cm wide
-Beige background w/ mossy green, brow and yellow tones
-Tacky when wet
-Striate margin; striation very bumpy/wartlike
-Cuticle peels 1/2-3/4
-White, becoming creamy yellow. Forked at midpoint. Thick and notched at point of attachment.
-White 4-6 cm long enlarging downward
7-20 mm thick/ hollow
-Some striation and golden brown bruising
Odor: none when fresh/ odd odor when dry (only vaguely of dried shrimp)
Taste: mild
Spores: deep cream color virtually no striation
8.75 um x 7.5um

As with obs 223067, this collection came from the same magnificent CCC plantation of P. strobus. Of all the russulas I ever collected in the USA, this one had the most unique combination of cap colors not observed previously. I noticed a slight and diffuse pinkish hue, in addition to the color scheme already mentioned by Luke, when I encountered these specimens.
