Observation 222759: Marasmiellus Murrill
When: 2015-11-07

Notes: On some small dead shrub (~20 cm tall, twigs ~2 mm). Caps up to 1 cm across, typically with depressed center.

Basidia 4-spored, but I think I saw 3-, 2-, and 1-spored ones as well, and I saw them clamped. One measured 32+4 x 7. Spores 6-10 × 3-4, inamyloid. Cheilocystidia not found on two gill edge mounts (though there were cells that might be cystidia). Caulocystidia abundant.

Marasimellus ramealis looks similar, but I guess I wouldn’t have missed its chelocystidia, diverticulate hyphae in the pileipellis; and it has differently shaped caulocystidia.
