Observation 223065: Fungi Bartl.
When: 2015-11-14

Notes: Found on underside of log on ground. Substrate appeared to be Hydnochaete olivacea (common in area)…substrate stained black in KOH.

Could not find spores from white fungus, but was able to see hyphae.

this may be some kind of mold, but then I would expect you to have found abundant conidia or conidiogenous structures…

Why do you think it is not fungal? I feel pretty sure that the hyphae in the photo came from the white substance.
