When: 2015-11-16

Collection location: SE 76th and Division, Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]

Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

No specimen available

Abundant collection under cypress. No phenolic odor. In fact, no odor at all. Too cold?

On cutting board with 3.5" floppy disk for size.
Base of stipe, which has been dug. This area would have been 2-3 inches underground.
Only one specimen with pink gills exposed.
Base of stipe showing primordia on side. Seems to grow in groups or caespitose clusters.

I would have called it that too, Christian. I still think it could be, but too cold to stain quickly. I didn’t save them, just in case they were.

Sure looks like A. xanthodermus
