Small tan cap with prominent umbo, dull gills with pale spores and decurrent tooth on stipe, stipe thick; stipled with streaks and lines, enlarged downward to bulbous base and white by mycelium. In wood chips and grass along hiking trail, spores shown below at 1000x in meltzers. Color of spores difficult to determine in field, possibly due to recent frost. Clearly have some color in microscope.
