Observation 223438: Flammulina velutipes (Curtis) Singer
When: 2015-11-15
No herbarium specimen
0 Sequences

Notes:
These two specimens were fruiting deep inside a large hollow cavity (on the inside wall) of a standing rotted tree in Oak-Hickory forest. Had to use a flashlight to illuminate the inside of the cavity because camera flash in this enclosed space washed out the colors. Cap: 3 cm., moist, slightly sticky.; Stipe: 5 cm., yellow at apex and brown below, darkening with age, suede-like/velvety. Obtained creamy white spore print.
