Observation 223442: Entoloma Fr. ex P. Kumm.

Growing in disturbed ground (trailside). Three and five needle pine nearby, along with oak, live oak and white fir.

Spore print pinkish.

I observed this species three times during this outing. Other than the one I collected, others were growing in pairs. None of them had a wavy margin.

E. sericeum is one of those names that gets applied to a lot of mushrooms that look similar. However, no one has helped untangle that mess (there are data suggesting at least 5 taxa in this complex at Point Reyes alone!), so for now this should be used as a “Group” name.

So much variation on MO for E. sericeum….
