Observation 223572: Postia caesia (Schrad.) P. Karst.
When: 2015-11-21
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This specimen through me for a major loop.
The fuzzy, pure white cap and apparent teeth reminded me of nothing I knew, except for this thing: observation 197902.

But by the time I got home, the specimen had blue-gray stains, the cap hairs had collapsed into a matted-tomentose surface, and a closer look at the fertile surface showed that it was composed of very ‘toothy’ pores (with irregular angular projections) – much more typical for Postia caesia.
