Observation 22366: Lactarius Pers.

No herbarium specimen

Notes: Found in mixed hardwood. Two specimens near each other. Mature specimen had pileus of 4 inches, and stipe of 2 inches. Lamellae did not exude latex, but lengthwise sliced stipe excuded yellow latex. Stipe was hollow. Did not show “potholes” as suggested at might occur “indistinctly” at http://www.mushroomexpert.com/lactarius_psammicola.html as distinction from L psammicola. Did not have “strongly” acrid taste.
