Observation 223753: Psathyrella (Fr.) Quél.
When: 2015-11-23
( 2m)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: First photos are from November 19, 2015. The mushrooms were chestnut brown with a light/white color at the edge of the cap. The stem is also a light/white color. I went back on November 22, 2015 and took more photos to see how different they looked. Loved the change. The mushrooms turned a beautiful tan color and the edge of the cap had turned a dark brown/black color. The stem darkened a bit. I did not pick to get pictures of the gills but I plan on going back to get more photos and will pick at that time.

We went back out last Sunday after a freeze. I had hoped to get back before it froze but didn’t have the time. I added pictures from last Sunday.

Psathyrella bipellis has distinctly purplish/reddish gills when immature, these clearly have pallid gills while immature.
