Observation 224262: Rhodocollybia butyracea f. asema (Fr.) Antonín, Halling & Noordel.

Scattered on pine needles in the young Bishop pine forest. The heavy spore print was pure white – no hint of pink, and a very low percent of the spores were weakly dextrinoid. This seems like it could fit under R butyraceae as well, but when fresh it had a hygrophanous cap, which caused it to key to R butyraceae f asema. The photos were taken on Monday, and the collection was made on Friday. Unfortunately the collection was thrown out at the end of class.

sporeprint on foil
spores in meltzers – note staining of cluster at right about 2/3 down from top. The colors are not true, but the dextrinoid reaction was not strong
