Notes: Stipe firm but hollow, smell is vaguely fruity, spore print is white. Found growing in twig and leaf litter, out of the ground, near American Beech trees.

I had a look at it in “Mushrooms of West Virginia and the Central Appalachians”. Everything in the description there fits this one.
