Observation 22733: Melanoleuca melaleuca (Pers.) Murrill

No herbarium specimen

Notes: These were growing in conifer debris but the caps were rather small, from about 3.0-4.3 cm across and the stems were not very dark. That sort of eliminated M. angelisiana/M. graminicola. They degraded before I could check the cystidia. The spores were warted and amyloid and appeared to be in the right size range.
