Notes: growing in a pile of wood chips, very tight mass of mycelium seemed to constrict all the wood chips into a very tight and solid mass substrate

Not Psilocybe

Even as blurry as these images are, I can confidently say that these look nothing like Psilocybe.

Gymnopus or Rhodocollybia seem like good candidates.
