Notes: Bolete. Brick-orange cap and yellowish stipe. Yellow flesh, rapidly turns green or blue when damaged. Underside of cap bright red.

Recognized by sight: The live fruiting body is not the same specimen as the dismembered specimen. The live specimen was observed on 062309 and the dismembered specimen was collected five days later at the same location.

the first one looks like subvelutipes (in the broad sense) the second picture looks like what I would call Boletus discolor
