Observation 22763: Sarcodon underwoodii (Banker)
When: 2009-07-01
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Walking along a path came across groups of these growing under a mix of pine oak and hickory. My fellow mushroom hunter and Toadstool tester Zeth taste a small sample of this and found it to be extremely bitter. The bitter taste lasting over 20 min. Spore print is brown.
