Observation 23158: Amanita vaginata group

When: 2009-07-13

Collection location: near Levisee Creek Rd., Fayette Co, West Virginia, USA [Click for map]

Who: Eddee (eddeeee)

Specimen available

This is really similar to others of the A.Vaginata. This one is very low to the ground. The others I have found in the same area have very tall stems, I had found a similar one near the same area two weeks ago but accredit to growing conditions so i did not take a pick of it. This is the 3rd one i have found that grows very close to the ground in this area in the last month. What is unsusal is the stem comming from the Volva is thik but only reaches a height of 3 in.
