Dull grey cap, fist-sized, no short gills, some gills forked close to stem; under broadleaved trees (aspen, maple, birch) but near jack pine in Zone 13.

Found very nearby were some small white mushrooms ( http://www.mushroomobserver.org/23232 ) and some odd bluish ones ( http://www.mushroomobserver.org/23233 ) (final photo shows all three kinds; even more of the little white guys are hiding behind leaves near the top of the photo; right, white guys, left, bluish guys, lower left, russula).
