Observation 23389: Russula aeruginea Fr.

When: 2009-07-21

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

Definitely a Russula; maybe R. aeruginea. Found in Zone 05 lying upside down with the gills looking, for want of a better description, burnt. The third image on this observation shows it as I found it. Stipe had that stick-of-chalk look characteristic of the mushrooms of the Russulaceae.
