A bright orange, fist-sized Russula growing solitary in Zone 05 near the triple junction of Zones 05, 06, and 07. It was near the base of a stump, original tree species unidentified. The dominant trees there are red and white pine.

The red-pine-containing area encompassing Zones 05, 07, 08, and 24 were extraordinarily busy today with mushrooms. Coming up are several observations taken within a single area of a few square meters in Zone 24, for example.
