Observation 23680: Suillus brevipes (Peck) Kuntze
When: 2009-07-20
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: I’ve found this twice now, both times on trails on dry mountain sides with spruce, pine, and a few scattered birch/aspen. Probably associated with spruce. It is small; the cap is distinctly tacky (possibly viscid when moist?); stalk nice and smooth; pores a bit yellowish; flesh staining faintly yellowish; spore print yellowish brown; no odor.

Well, sure it is a Suillus. How about that. Thanks, Irene!
