Notes: Found two clusters of these in moist spruce forest among Aralia nudicaulis, Clintonia uniflora and Vaccinium membranaceum. Dusting of white spores visible all around them. Distinct but faint anise odor. No briuising detected. Stipe hollow; note twisted striations; also (though not seen in photos) has a twisted portion buried in humus but not really rooting (I dug deep to make sure). All very dry and smooth.
