Observation 23742: Laccaria laccata (Scop.) Cooke

When: 2009-07-31

Collection location: Forest near Elgin St., Pembroke, Ontario, Canada [Click for map]

Who: Paul Derbyshire (Twizzler)

No specimen available

This was a massive fruiting of small laccarias in Zone 02. The second-to-last photo shows many of the mushrooms, in little clusters in turn scattered over an area of tens of square meters. There were still more, out of that image to the right along a sandy path for dozens of meters, again in little clusters with a few inches to a few feet separating clusters. There were probably over 100 fruitbodies all told.
