Observation 23913: Boletus albidus Roques

When: 2009-08-03

Collection location: Chorleywood Common, Hertfordshire, England [Click for map]

Who: Hunx (Mycohunx)

No specimen available

Notes:
Cap buff and matt, approx 12-15cm across, stem w6cm, h6cm. Tubes yellowing to brown, cap cracked with age, obviously a mature specimen judging by the size of it.
Found at base of oak tree in poor soil, near woodland. Thought it was a stone at first, but on closer inspection revealed another large specimen growing next to it.
