Observation 24349: Fungi Bartl.

When: 2009-08-15

Collection location: Sebastopol, Sonoma Co., California, USA [Click for map]

Who: Darvin DeShazer (darv)

No specimen available

A large oak tree fell down yesterday near our home and there was zero wind! The portion of it that was still standing shows the tell-tale dripping, oozing wound of sudden oak death.

you were able to find this. It is suspected this may be an Asian fungus introduced to the US from ornamental plants. Sad.
