Recognized by sight: Hymenium composed of tubes, thick stalk, whitish coloration, with dark reddish-brown staining especially near base of stipe or where damaged by insect larvae. Reminds me somewhat of Boletus barrowsii, which unfortunately I’ve never seen, just eaten.
