Observation 24472: Fuligo septica (L.) F.H. Wigg.

When: 2009-08-13

Collection location: Hartland, Vermont, USA [Click for map]

Who: John Carl Jacobs (JCJacobs)

No specimen available

Notes:
The circular specimen in the photo is about an inch wide and a centimeter tall. It was growing on what I thought was a fallen birch limb, but couldn’t be sure. I thought it might be Fuligo septica, but I’m not at all confident in that. If anyone can identify it, please do.

Recognized by sight: Kind of a small specimen(s), but might be portions of a larger whole. Plasmodia looks to still be visible.
