“pallens”, well… there were problems with the original imagined provisional name… which is a good example of why provisional names should always be warded off with garlic and cloves.

Agaricus pallens?

If I recall correctly, the proposed name was Agaricus pallens.

I can’t tell you the name, but this mushroom is not named after shroomydan. The draft document Rick showed me was dated May of this year. The specimens I sent will be the third collection of this unpublished taxon, if they turn out to be what he thinks they are.

This is the same species as the mushrooms in this observation:

Rick Kerrigan has received specimens from ob 24015. He already has a name picked out for them, but I’m not at liberty to divulge it, secrets Haha! I’m looking forward to the results of his microscopic and molecular analysis.

Any scent? Staining on stalk or base?

Fantastic picture!
