Stipe doesn’t look like Russula.

Most Russula don’t have scale/scaley discoloration on the lower half. Granular flesh seems suspicious. Centrally-depressed cap is also rare in Russula. I’d vote for one of the non-latex producing Lactarius.

These mushrooms also had no discernible smell.

No latex

These mushroom did not produce latex where damaged. This is clearly a Russual, though one I do not recall encountering before today. The flesh was grainy and had no flavor. The pattern of coloration on the cap seems distinctive.

I could not completely rule out Lactarius unless you checked for laxes?
