This mushroom was growing from the bank of a small dry stream bed. Fingerprints on the stem show scale.

Recognized by sight: Size, size and shape of saccate volva, staining of pileus, flecks of floccose inner volval limb on the exannulate stipe, bruising reactions less intense than in A. volvata.
