With the decurrent gills, and the stipe should be dark and velvety, and it was on wood. That is about right.

Would love a confirmation for my own educational purposes.

This was fun trying to identify (assuming I got it right.) The spore print looked a touch pink and it was growing off a log, so I went to Pluteus (obviously wrong.) Then thought “kinda looks like an oyster”. Arora’s book steered me in the right direction with the “Pleutotus & Allies” key.
