Found during a spring Sierra mushroom workshop taught by Dr. Dennis Dejardin at the SFSU field station near Yuba Pass.
Identified using the 2004 Spring Fungi of the Sierra Nevada pamphlet created by Dennis Dejardin. I’m not completely confident in this identification. I remember that we had it identified during the class, but I didn’t keep enough notes to be sure what we called it at that time. I have a vague memory of it being a Collybia most of which have subsequently been transferred to the genus Gymnopus.
