Observation 25164: Dictydiaethalium plumbeum (Schumach.) Rostaf. ex Lister

When: 2009-08-07

Collection location: Wharton State Forest, Burlington Co., New Jersey, USA [Click for map]

Who: I. G. Safonov (IGSafonov)

No specimen available

I have not idea what it is and where to look for this “blob” in mushroom literature. Obviously, it is growing on wood. The surface texture is reminiscent of orange peel.

Compare to observation 7716.

This specimen looks really smooth, but I think the appearance is consistent with medium-late stage Tubifera ferruginosa.

Not sure..
