Observation 25190: Boletus L.

When: 2009-08-18

Collection location: Wharton State Forest, Burlington Co., New Jersey, USA [Click for map]

Who: I. G. Safonov (IGSafonov)

No specimen available

Notes:
Here is yet another not-so-easy-to-identify yellow pored blue stainer from the Pine Barrens. It was collected in mixed (mostly oak-pine) woods, growing on a road side. The pictures were taken without a flash, so all the colors are natural. The pilepellis is pale cinnamon, which is reminiscent of B. psedosensibilis. Note the uneven blueing action of the exposed context.
